The Mission’s programs help many of California’s 1.8 million childen who live below the poverty level.
After-School Programs provide a safe, nurturing environment for children-at-risk: • Homework assistance • Computer Learning Center • Instruction in Biblical principals, morals and values. • Much-needed nourishing meals. • Take-home Children’s Food Bags
Summer Camp takes children away from dangerous streets to enjoy fresh air, wholesome fun and lots of good food. For a few precious days they won’t have to worry about dodging bullets in gang-infested housing projects. Instead, they will playfully dodge rubber balls on beautiful green playgrounds. They’ll run and play without fear. They also learn life-changing values and principles from God’s Word. One 15-year-old girl put it this way, “Going away to camp helps us get the garbage out.”
Inner City Park Outreach Programs “take back the parks” from gangs and drug dealers, allowing children to safely enjoy songs, games, Bible stories, good food and lots of loving care from the Mission staff and volunteers.
Field Trips open up a whole new world for underprivileged children by giving them the opportunity to participate in recreational and learning activities such as museums, parks, farms and sporting events. Most of the trips are made possible by the generosity of businesses. |
