Homeless Street Outreach Ministry Serving Los Angeles and Beyond
Since 1944, Fred Jordan Missions has been a homeless street outreach ministry serving the homeless of Skid Row, Los Angeles, throughout America in the inner-cities, and in far reaching places around the world. Fred Jordan heard the call from God in the words of a friend back in the early 40's. From that point on, he began bringing love to the downtrodden through his homeless street outreach ministry.

Today, Fred Jordan Missions is known for providing compassion, love, and assistance to people who have lost their way in life. Through the homeless street outreach ministry at Fred Jordan Missions, many life-changing programs, events, and provisions have been provided to thousands throughout the years. With the assistance of donors and volunteers, Fred Jordan Missions has built schools and hospitals, distributed food and clothing to the homeless living on the streets, created job training programs and after-school programs, brought holiday cheer to poor families, and so much more.

Homeless Street Outreach Ministry at Fred Jordan Missions Highlights
Each year, the mission provides essential needs to men, women, and children living on the streets. Some of the largest events center around major holidays.
  • Thanksgiving Day Banquet - This annual event helps to feed over 2,000 impoverished men, women, and children living on Skid Row and throughout Los Angeles, California. Each person is provided a hot, home-made turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The homeless and underprivileged individuals that enjoy this free meal also receive a gift bag with food, a new blanket, and more.

  • Harley Davidson Toy Run and Christmas Program - Each year, there is a major motorcycle rally with hundreds of bikers participating in the Harley Davidson Toy Run for children in Los Angeles. This event brings thousands of new toys and makes them available to the less fortunate children of Los Angeles. This event, combined with the Christmas program, help to distribute over 12,000 new toys to children living on Skid Row and throughout Los Angeles.

  • Easter Celebration - This homeless street outreach ministry brings hope and help to those living on the streets. First, there is an Easter message of hope centered around the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Following that, the streets of Skid Row are transformed into a festive event designed to be enjoyed by the entire family. Each family receives a basket full of food. There are games, jumpers, cotton candy, and more for children during this event.

  • Mother's Day Make-overs and Mother's Day Event - These two events help homeless women and mother's feel important, special, and loved. Underprivileged women receive a hair cut, styling, and makeup. The Mother's Day event brings a free meal to the women and children living on the streets. Each mother receives a flower and a food bag.
These are just brief summaries of four events that go on annually at Fred Jordan Missions. The homeless street outreach ministry at the mission extends to many more programs and events. Most of all, the mission is dedicated to providing care, love, hope, and help to those living on the streets. Providing food, clothing, and a fresh start at life is the purpose of Fred Jordan Missions.
