Once upon a time, way up high on a mountain, there was an eagle’s nest containing four large eagle eggs. Stay with me for this is a wonderful story.

One day an earthquake sent one of the eagle’s eggs rolling down the mountain, to a chicken farm, in the valley below. A hen nurtured and raised the large eagle egg. When the egg hatched, a beautiful eagle was born, but sadly, the eagle was raised to be a chicken.

The eagle loved his chicken family, but his spirit cried out for more. One day, the eagle looked up at the skies and saw a flock of mighty eagles soaring overhead. “Oh,” the eagle cried, “I wish I could soar like those birds.” The chickens laughed, “You’re a chicken and chickens don’t soar.”

But deep within the eagle’s breast, he knew he was created to be more than a barnyard chicken. So he spread his mighty wings and tried to fly. He wasn’t used to flight, so it was hard at first.

But he kept trying, and eventually joined his real family as the majestic creatures soared about the earth.

Friend, could a moral be any clearer? Don’t live in the barnyard, when God has called you to be His child!
