:: Louis Pasteur ::

An old man was traveling on a train in France, reading his Bible, as a young man sitting near by watched. When the young man asked what he was reading, the old man replied, “I’m reading the sixth chapter of Mark.”

“What does it say?” inquired the young man. “It is the story of the loaves and fishes, where with only five barley loaves and a couple of fish, Christ fed the entire crowd of 5,000.”

With an air of scorn the young man replied, “Do you really believe that?”, “Yes I do,” was the old man’s reply.

The young man said, “I can see you’ve been brainwashed by ancient superstitions. That could never happen to me, since I am a scientist. The story you have just read defies the laws of science and therefore is sheer fantasy. But I’m a scientist, and I can’t expect you to understand that.”

As the train reached his station, the young man rose to leave, “It’s been nice talking to you, Mister. I’m sorry I didn’t get your name.” The old man handed him his calling card bearing his name: Louis Pasteur, one of the world’s greatest scientists of all time.
