A man had a little daughter- an only and much-beloved child. She was his whole life, then one day she became ill and the best physicians couldn’t cure her.

The father became a man possessed, moving heaven and earth to bring about her restoration to health. But his best efforts proved futile and the child died. The father was irreconcilable. He became a bitter man, shutting himself away from everyone.

But one night he had a dream. He was in Heaven, and was witnessing a grand pageant of little child angels. They were marching in an endless line past the Great White Throne, every white-robed angelic child carrying a candle.

He noticed that one child’s candle was not lit, and then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl. Rushing to her, he seized her in his arms, caressed her tenderly, and asked: “How is it, darling that your candle alone is not
lit? “,“Father, they often relight it, but your tears always put it out,” she answered.

Just then he awoke from his dream. The lesson was crystal clear, and its effect was immediate. He didn’t want his little darling’s candle to be extinguished by his useless tears. If this is for you today, there is nothing more to say, is there?
