Across the Southland, good, hard-working people are falling behind. Jobs are lost. Prices for groceries, gas, and everyday essentials keep rising. Many who never imagined needing “charity” now stand in line for a meal, quietly praying the lights won’t be shut off at home.
And sometimes, the impact of that love is seen in the smallest, most personal moments. At the Mission, gratitude shows up in heartfelt notes from people who have been cared for in their hour of need. One woman expressed thanks to Carlos, one of our “Team Jesus” staff, for looking out for her, stepping in to help, and making sure she received the walker she needed to keep going and even make it back to church.
We are also seeing something powerful on Skid Row: people beginning to reflect the same compassion they have received. Even those with very little are finding ways to give back, reminding us that generosity is not measured by how much someone has, but by the heart behind it.
Through FJM–TV and our broadcasts into Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley, the stories of hope reach even further. “Watching FJM–TV in my living room, I heard a message that felt like it was just for me. I called the Mission, received prayer, and Jesus has been restoring my life ever since.”
These are the people your love touches.
