Dear Friend,
Let’s be honest—this isn’t the fun letter. It’s a “NOT THE FUN STUFF” letter.
It’s not one of those stories that will make you smile, like seeing a life changed or a child’s joy at receiving their first warm meal.
We love those moments! But every life we touch happens because of something less glamorous—the ovens, the refrigerators, the elevator, the water heater, the A/C, and the lights.
Those things don’t preach, hug, or pray...but they make ministry possible.
For well over 80 years, our building on the corner of 5th and Towne has stood tall.
Since 1944, it’s been known as Fred Jordan Missions, where tens of millions have found food, clothing, help, and the hope of Jesus. But thousands of meals every month take a toll.
Just like your car needs oil changes, the Mission needs its own kind of maintenance: repairs, replacements, and upgrades to keep the doors open and the food hot.
We call it “NOT THE FUN STUFF”…, but it’s absolutely necessary.
